Representative Project, Oil, Gas, and Minerals

Morgan, Angel & Associates experts have been retained on over forty-five cases in U.S. District Court and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims related, in part, to the Government's management of fluid and solid minerals on Federal and State lands and Indian reservations across the country from the early 20th century to present time.

These ongoing cases involve research into federal regulations, federal Indian policy and related natural resource management issues for oil, gas, coal, phosphate, sand & gravel, and uranium, among others minerals. Our experts and historians conduct research at the National Archives in Washington, DC, and regional locations, Federal Records Centers, Bureau of Indian Affairs Regional and Agency Offices, Bureau of Land Management Offices, and Minerals Management Services Offices across the country. We also work extensively with other scientific experts to ensure a complete understanding of the historical and contextual aspects related to each case.
