Morgan, Angel & Associates provides complete research, consultation, and training services to unrecognized American Indian tribes that have petitioned or wish to petition the Bureau of Indian Affairs [BIA] for Federal Acknowledgment under provisions of Part 83 of Title 25 of the Code of Federal Regulations [25 CFR 83]. Our researchers have more experience and expertise in the area of federal recognition and the history of unrecognized tribes than any other firm or researchers can offer.
Morgan Angel consultants can:
- Provide analysis of existing petition materials.
- Evaluate a petitioner's potential for getting through the Acknowledgment process.
- Advise and train tribal members and others on petition preparation and documentation.
- Conduct historical, anthropological, and genealogical research.
- Develop computerized databases compatible with BIA software applications.
- Produce narrative reports, bibliographies, and exhibit documents in BIA format.
- Conduct community studies so critical to meeting criterion 87.7 (b-c).
